Mini Session Prep Guide

Congratulations on booking your family photo session!
This guide has info to help you prepare.

What to Wear

Pick your outfit first. Select something you feel beautiful/handsome and confident in.

Pick outfits for remaining family members that compliment your outfit. Family photos look best when family members coordinate, not match. Think about colors and patterns that work well with each other.

If you’re stuck, search Pinterest "fall family pictures outfits" or check out this website for ideas.

stay away from busy patterns, neon colors & huge logos
if you want to wear a shirt or dress that has a strong pattern, layer a solid colored sweater or coat on top
dress in layers (it looks nice and will keep you warm)
try not to have everyone in jeans or the same lower color by wearing dresses or by including black or khaki pants
don't forget to consider your shoes!

How to Prepare for Session Day
How to prepare:
Have everyone try on their outfits ahead of time. (If you have picky family members, you may want to have a backup outfit ready to go).
Leave the house with plenty of time to spare. Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes early. If you arrive late, you might miss out on some of your photography time.
What to bring:
You don't need to bring anything other than your family. Although with kiddos, it's always a good idea to bring drinks, snacks + extra diapers. You're welcome to bring your dog(s). If you do bring a dog, please remember treats, bags and a leash or tie out.
What to expect:
During your session, we'll walk around at our agreed upon location. There will be moments when I'll have you look and smile at the camera. There will also be moments where you'll look at each other and have fun. I'll guide you the whole time so all you'll need to do is relax and be with your family. I'll also be checking the weather. If rain is in the forecast during your session time, I'll contact you to discuss next steps.
After Your Session
I will edit and post high-resolution photos in an online gallery in 2 weeks. There will be 5-7 unlocked images that are yours to download, print and share as you wish. The remaining images will stored in your gallery and are available to purchase for $20 each or $275 for the set of remaining photos.
Your gallery is linked to an online shop with prints, holiday cards, and products to make with your new photos! Have fun checking out your options and let me know if I can help you at all.
